The farmhouse ?Masseria sul Mare? is not far from the ?Marchesa? beach, famous for its beautifully profiled golden sandy shore. Its position between Syracuse and Noto, in the nature reserve of the river ?Cassibile?, which flows down from the ?Iblei? mountains, through the protected archeological zone and into the sea, makes it particularly attractive. Also within short driving distance are Catania, Mount Etna and its fascinating villages and Taormina. Further afield, but well worth the trip are Agrigento and Piazza Armerina. From the house one has a splendid view on the vast sea front and the beach, which is enclosed by a rocky coastline, is only a breath away. The original house with its sober architecture, dates from the beginning of 1900 and consists of two parallel buildings with a courtyard in the centre, open at both ends so as to let in the light to emphasize the pretty white stone which is so typical of the zone.
